1, Flexible torch head bends easily for comfortable, precise welding in tight or awkward spaces.

2, Air-cooled design ensures continuous, long-term operation, extending the overall service life of the torch.

3, Integrated gas control valve (FV) on the handle allows for instant, manual adjustment of shielding gas flow.

4, Complete 12-foot cable assembly provides extended reach and flexibility around your workspace.

5, Equipped with 3/8"-24 RH connection and 105Z57 adapter, compatible with standard TIG consumables and parts.

Q: Will this torch plug directly into my welder?

A: Not directly. This torch ends in a 3/8"-24 RH Female threaded connection.
To connect to a welder: You typically need a DINSE connector/adapter (sold separately) that fits your specific machine (usually size 10-25 or 35-50). The torch screws into the back of that adapter, and the adapter plugs into your machine.
Note: If your machine is an older "stud" style, you use the included lug adapter.

Q: Why does this torch have a gas valve on the handle?

A: The "V" (Valve) is designed for welders that do not have an internal gas solenoid (like most Stick inverters).
How it works: You connect the gas hose directly to your argon tank regulator. To weld, you manually twist the valve on the torch handle to open the gas flow. When finished, you twist it closed.
Perfect for: Scratch-Start and Lift-TIG setups.

Q: Can I use this on a machine that DOES have a gas solenoid?

A: Yes. Simply leave the valve on the handle in the "Open" position at all times, and let your machine control the gas flow automatically.
Features (Flex Head & Amperage)

Q: What does "Flexible Head" mean?

A: The "F" in WP-17FV stands for Flexible.
Benefit: You can physically bend the neck of the torch to different angles. This is a lifesaver when welding roll cages, exhaust manifolds, or tight corners where a straight torch can't reach.
Caution: Do not bend the head while it is extremely hot, and minimize bending it back and forth rapidly to prolong the life of the copper neck.

Q: What is the maximum amperage for this torch?

A: This is a 150-Amp Air-Cooled torch.
DC Rating (Steel/Stainless): Rated for approx. 150 Amps at 60% Duty Cycle.
AC Rating (Aluminum): Rated for approx. 115 Amps.
Warning: If you need to weld continuously at 200+ Amps, you need a water-cooled torch (WP-18) or a heavy-duty air-cooled torch (WP-26), otherwise this torch will overheat and melt.
Consumables & Setup

Q: What consumables (cups/collets) does this use?

A: This torch uses standard 17/18/26 Series consumables (also known as 10N series).
These are the most common TIG parts available. You can easily find collets, collet bodies, alumina cups, and gas lenses at any welding supply store.

Q: Does this work with a foot pedal?

A: The torch itself does not connect to a foot pedal.
If your machine supports a pedal: Yes, you can use a pedal to control amperage while holding this torch.
If using a Stick machine: No, you will likely control the heat by setting the amperage on the machine panel before you start.
