Powerful Magnetic Hold: Features a strong, reliable magnet offering up to 25 LBS of holding force for securing workpieces during light tasks.
Multi-Angle Arrow Design: Supports 45°, 90°, and 135° angles, enabling hands-free, precise alignment for diverse metalworking projects.
Durable Steel Construction: Built with strong, riveted metal that resists wear and tear, ensuring long-term performance in demanding environments.
Versatile Workshop Tool: Ideal for quickly positioning and holding materials during welding, soldering, assembly, and pipe installation.
Value 4-Piece Set: Includes four identical 25 LB magnetic holders, providing convenience and ample positioning capacity for various projects.
Q: Will these hold heavy steel beams?
Q: Will these hold heavy steel beams?
A: These are rated for 25 LBS of holding force, which is ideal for Light-to-Medium duty tasks.
Best For: Square tubing, angle iron frames, sheet metal, and small pipe projects.
Not For: Heavy structural I-beams or long, heavy pipes. For heavy steel, we recommend our larger 50lb or 75lb magnets.
Note: Holding force is maximized on clean, flat metal. Paint, rust, or round surfaces will reduce the grip strength.
Q: Do these work on Aluminum or Stainless Steel?
Q: Do these work on Aluminum or Stainless Steel?
A:
Aluminum: No. Magnets do not stick to aluminum.
Stainless Steel: It depends. Some stainless grades (like 400 series) are magnetic, but high-quality 300 series stainless (like 304) is non-magnetic. These work best on Carbon Steel and Iron.
Q: Why buy a 4-pack instead of just one?
Q: Why buy a 4-pack instead of just one?
A: A 4-pack allows you to set up an entire project at once. For example, if you are building a square table frame, you can place a magnet in all four corners to ensure the entire structure is square before you start tack welding.
Q: What angles can I set with these?
Q: What angles can I set with these?
A: The "Arrow" design is clever because it offers three distinct angles:
90°: For square corners.
45°: For miters and bracing.
135°: For wide, obtuse angles.
Q: Can I weld continuously right next to the magnet?
Q: Can I weld continuously right next to the magnet?
A: You should be careful.
Heat Warning: Extreme heat can demagnetize the tool. We recommend using the magnet to position and tack weld your pieces. Once the tacks are secure, remove the magnet before completing the full weld bead to prevent heat damage.
Arc Blow: Strong magnetic fields can sometimes push your welding arc to the side. If this happens, simply move the magnet slightly further away from the joint.
Q: How do I clean the metal shavings ("fuzz") off the magnet?
Q: How do I clean the metal shavings ("fuzz") off the magnet?
A: Since these are "Always On" magnets, metal dust will collect on them.
Method 1: Use an air compressor to blow the shavings off.
Method 2: Wipe them with a thick shop rag or a stiff brush.
Tip: Keep them clean! Metal shavings between the magnet and your workpiece will significantly reduce the holding strength.
Q: Are these switchable (On/Off)?
Q: Are these switchable (On/Off)?
A: No, these are solid-state permanent magnets. They are always active. This makes them more durable and affordable, as there are no moving parts or switches to break.
