Q: Will this kit fit my specific Lincoln welder?
Q: Will this kit fit my specific Lincoln welder?
A: This kit is designed for the Lincoln Magnum 100L torch, which is the standard gun found on many popular models including:
Lincoln Weld-Pak (100, 125, 140, 180)
Lincoln SP-Series (SP-135, SP-140T, SP-180T)
Lincoln Power MIG (140C, 180C, 210MP)
Also fits Tweco Mini / #1 style torches found on other brands.
Q: Does this fit Harbor Freight (Titanium/Vulcan) welders?
Q: Does this fit Harbor Freight (Titanium/Vulcan) welders?
A: It depends on the model. Many Titanium (125/140/170) and Vulcan (MIGMax 140/215) welders use the Tweco #1 style torch, which these parts fit. However, please compare your current contact tip threads to the images to be sure.
Q: My wire is .035". Can I use these tips?
Q: My wire is .035". Can I use these tips?
A: No. These tips are precision drilled for .030" (0.8mm) wire.
If you use .035" wire, it will jam inside the tip.
If you use .023" wire, the hole will be too big, causing the arc to wander and spark erratically.
Please check your wire spool label before ordering.
Q: Why do I need 20 contact tips?
Q: Why do I need 20 contact tips?
A: Contact tips are "consumables," meaning they wear out. As the wire slides through, the hole widens (causing sloppy welds) or the wire can accidentally fuse to the tip ("burn-back"). Having a bulk pack ensures you never have to stop your project to run to the store.
Q: Can I use the included nozzles for Flux-Core (Gasless) welding?
Q: Can I use the included nozzles for Flux-Core (Gasless) welding?
A: Yes, but with a caveat.
Gas MIG: These copper nozzles are perfect for Gas MIG as they direct the Argon/CO2 gas.
Flux-Core: You can use these nozzles for flux-core to protect the threads, but they may block your view of the puddle and collect spatter. For the best Flux-Core experience, we recommend buying a specific "Gasless Nozzle" (which is shorter and cone-shaped), but these will work if you keep them clean.
Q: What is the Gas Diffuser for?
Q: What is the Gas Diffuser for?
A: The diffuser is the brass part that screws into the welding gun neck. It holds the contact tip and disperses the shielding gas. If your gas flow feels uneven or your tips aren't screwing in smoothly, your old diffuser might be damaged. Replace it with one of the 2 new ones included in this kit.
Q: How do I prevent spatter from sticking to the nozzle?
Q: How do I prevent spatter from sticking to the nozzle?
A: Since these are metal nozzles, spatter will stick to them eventually. We recommend dipping the hot nozzle into "Nozzle Gel" or using "Anti-Spatter Spray" (sold separately) to keep them clean and extend their life.
